Knowledge Translation to Policy: Journal Club (2025)

Join us for a monthly trainee-led journal club, where we will be reviewing current research around knowledge translation and how research can inform public policy. Learn and share with your peers how we can reach different audiences with our research and promote the applications of our findings in different contexts.

Who should attend? This workshop is open to all registered CanNRT Members.

Director, PAR-KT Co-Lab

Keiko Shikako leads the PAR-KT Co-Lab (Participation and Knowledge Translation in Childhood Disability Collaborative), a hub for participatory research with children and youth with disabilities alongside families, communities, educators, healthcare providers, and decision-makers. The lab employs multidisciplinary approaches to enhance youth engagement in research and policy, driving systems and policy transformation to create healthy, inclusive communities where Human Rights are upheld. Keiko is also the lead of the KT to Policy priority area at the Canadian Neurodevelopmental Research Training (CanNRT) Platform.

Roberta Cardoso, PhD (@DrRobertaCar)
Research Fellow, CanNRT

Roberta Cardoso is a Research Fellow at CanNRT, where she co-leads the Trainee Priority Area Committee and contributes to the design, implementation, and evaluation of CanNRT’s training curriculum. As a Research Associate at the PAR-KT Co-Lab and the CHILD-BRIGHT Network, her work centers on patient-oriented research, youth disability rights, and translating knowledge into actionable policy. Roberta also coordinates the Policy Hub, a rapid response unit addressing evidence needs for policymaking.
