Have you ever noticed how a good paper or article can “sing” to you as you read it? As a writer, awareness of the musical aspects of a text may help you “compose” writing that flows well. This interactive workshop will demonstrate how to use melodic and rhythmic tools so as to enhance the clarity and reading experience of academic writing.
Who should attend?
This workshop is designed for current holders of the CanNRT Fellowship and Trainee Members only.
Why attend?
Participants will:
- Identify the use of musical elements in language and writing
- Use sentence variety to establish flow
- See how melody, rhythm, and silence can affect punctuation to create emphasis
