This workshop will introduce CanNRT Fellows and Trainees to strategies for achieving both short- and long-term writing goals. Participants will learn to identify their goals, develop ways to stay accountable, cultivate self-care practices, and set writing habits that work for them. The aim is to help students build productive, sustainable approaches to their writing regimen—now and for the future.

This workshop is designed for current holders of the CanNRT Fellowship and Trainee Members only.

About the speaker
Alexandra Bacopoulos-Viau holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, where her thesis was awarded the 2014 Dissertation Prize from the Forum for the History of Human Science. She has taught at Cambridge, Harvard, NYU, and McGill, and has received research support from granting bodies such as SSHRC, the Banting postdoctoral fellowships, and the Cambridge European Trust. At Graphos, she helps graduate students to identify and advance their own writing goals.
About the organizer
Yvonne Hung, PhD, is the Director of the McGill Writing Centre, McGill University’s central resource in written communication. In this capacity, she oversees its suite of undergraduate and graduate courses, the Graphos program focused on graduate students and postdocs, a Tutorial Service that offers individual writing consults to students, and various special projects, including a “Writing for Publication” collaboration with the Ingram School of Nursing. She was a member of the QART Advisory group, where she took great satisfaction in working with others to support QART’s training mandate. With the launch of the CanNRT platform, Dr. Hung continues to be involved by developing curriculum as a Priority Area Lead in the area of scientific writing and communication.
